A New book

Over the centuries many Christian leaders have chosen to demonize science, while those in the scientific camp see Christianity as irrelevant or irrational. Both sides of this debate are short changing themselves. Why x 2 explains why.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stands guard in vain." (Psalm 127:1)

Selling US postage stamps, U.S. graded stamps, Canadian stamps, and Newfoundland mint postage stamps to discerning stamp collectors. We are also large buyers of high quality, pre-1940 mint stamps from these countries.

For the last 35 years Croton Stamp Co., owned and operated by Thomas Vaillancourt, has endeavored to be a very different kind of stamp company. Yes, we sell US stamps, Canada stamps, and Newfoundland stamps to collectors by mail, as well as publish one of the few  stamp newsletters in the industry about U.S. stamps and Canadian postage stamps. However, in order to transform the above verse into some kind of business reality, we developed a business model that offers the stamp collector a unique service that guarantees his security, peace of mind, and satisfaction. Put simply, we want the collector to get what they think they are getting. All too often collectors get stamps in the mail they have obtained in online auctions that do not correspond to the auction's description. We think the old fashioned way--that the seller should deliver what they say they are going to deliver. To accomplish this we offer a wantlist service for collectors of mint U.S., Canada, and Newfoundland stamps. This is how it works:

(1) Croton Stamp Co. services customer wantlists and ships the stamps on 'open' account. Customers receive and inspect the stamps they request in their own home and at their leisure before paying for them.

(2) Customers receive only stamps that are carefully selected to match their personal stamp wantlist (using Scott catalogue numbers), their condition specifications, and their budgetary limits.

To guarantee your satisfaction, we need to enlist your cooperation by providing us with a list of what you want. Click here to fill out our online wantlist service form.

Although many of the stamps we sell are accompanied with philatelic certificates of authenticity, we are now offering U.S. graded stamps accompanied with a PSE graded certificate. This grade is a score of the stamp's centering condition less points for any faults or detracting factors that the stamp may possess. By offering the option of purchasing graded stamps, Croton Stamp Co. is taking one step further in it's efforts in insure that our customers  are getting what they think they are getting when they buy one of our stamps.

At Croton Stamp Co. we are philatelic professionals, so we can make the following guarantee: any stamp we sell will be able to obtain a satisfactory certificate of genuineness from any of the philatelic certifying agencies, such as the Philatelic Foundation in New York or the P.S.E. in California.   If, for any
reason, one of our US postage stamp, Canadian postage stamp, or Newfoundland stamp does not receive a certificate of genuineness from a philatelic expertizer, a complete refund for the cost of the stamp will be made to the purchaser. If a certificate mentions any stamp fault not already noted in our description of the stamp, we will also provide a refund. This is a very important guarantee in purchasing stamps of value over the Internet. For expertization services we recommend Professional Stamp Experts (P.S.E.). All the information one needs to make a submission can be found at their web site: www.psestamp.com/index.chtml.

Be sure to check out our current stamp newsletter by clicking our "What's New" link at the top of this page. In these newsletters you will find insider information that may not be available in the normal philatelic press. Although some of the most recent articles are posted on the 'What's New Page,' we have sprinkled older articles from the newsletter throughout this website so that you can get a feel for the information that is included. Be sure to check out our U.S., Canada, or Newfoundland web pages to see our stamp specials.

You may also wish to check out our sister web site at: www.PostersFromTheHeart.com. It is a source of inspirational posters and fine art prints, as well as offering a superb photo retouching service.

Many thanks,

Thomas Vaillancourt, President and Webmaster
